Spring 2008 DCE Conference April 15-16
 

The Changing Family is the theme for the spring DCE conference planned for Comfort Inn, I-465 at Exit 13, on the west side of Indianapolis.  Keynoter is Rev. Ed Keinath who brings to our conference a blend of being a professional Christian counselor and an LCMS parish pastor.  He lives in Seymour, where he carries out his practice of counseling through CrossLife Ministries.  He concurrently is parish pastor at St. Paul’s, Jonesville. Ed is in high demand across the Indiana District and synod to help restore peace in conflicted situations.  He is very knowledgeable, has current and real experiences with families and congregations, and is an engaging speaker who addresses issues in a very practical, direct manner.

Session 1: Wednesday 8:30-9:45 a.m.: “The Changing Face of the Family”  Significant changes are impacting families in our culture.  Ed will address how our changing families impact the life of our congregations and the ministries that we lead.

Session 2: Wednesday 10:15-11:30 a.m. “The Overindulged Child.”   Some kids have everything but supervision and effective parenting.  Ed will specifically address access to media that many kids have and the internet addictions that are more and more prevalent among younger and younger children.
