The Indiana
District Fiscal Conference convened on January 31, 2008
to review and
approve the district budget for the fiscal year
beginning April 1, 2008. The adopted budget
reflected the reduced level of contributions received
from congregations. The total level of giving for
2007 amounted to $2,592,000. Other Income, rent;
investment income; Lutheran Witness income and
workshop fees amounted to an additional $146,000. The
balance of the $2.9 million budget will be funded
through the previous year’s surplus. The fiscal
conference includes the 15 member Board of Directors,
the 24 Circuit Counselors, the chairmen of the three
councils, and various committee chairmen. This
year’s conference was held in Martinsville, Indiana at
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
